Sentinel,
Please check your email....
hi everyone, something has been on my mind lately and i would really appreciate some comments.
i've posted a few topic discussions on my story as a dub, recent dicoveries of wt tampering with the bible translations they use and the subsequent emotions that came from learning that so many things i was taught growing up are lies, and about visiting various churches (chuck swindoll etc).
here's what has been on mind the last few days.

i went to a seminar yesterday for work on how to manage stress.
the speaker was great...he is dr. mees, author of "wake up, america".. he stated how our diet, exercise, and meditation are very important for our own health.
he described the damage cocaine does to the heart muscles, which cannot be repaired and compared it to the damage stress does as well.

He described the damage cocaine does to the heart muscles, which cannot be repaired and compared it to the damage stress does as well. It's like having Swiss cheese for heart muscle after years of cocaine use. Well, he also stated that if you opened up the chest of someone that is under stress often you would not be able to tell the difference! It would look just the same as the cocaine user! Incredible!
He went on to explain how valuable meditation is to help us with stress and our everyday life choices, and how it affects the way we react to stressful situations. He had us close our eyes and talked us through relaxing our bodies. Because of the time limit, we only did this for about 10 min. Wow, did I feel good afterwards! I've used meditation before, but not as often as I should. If felt great...only if it was just for 10 minutes. Imagine if we would do this all the time? It doesn't really have to be a quiet space...you could even close your eyes and meditate in your own office. When I do meditate it gives me a great feeling of peace.
When you meditate, how and what do you do to meditate? What feelings do you get from this?
how many of you are totally, incredibly happy in your marriage?
how many of you feel that your spouse is your absolute soul mate and you couldn't even imagine your being married somebody else?
talking with the women at work, i'm surprised at how many are not totally happy.
How sweet all of you are! You're making me feel all mushy inside.....I'm really happy for all of you. It give me hope. After leaving an abusive relationship (marriage), it's really positive to see that there are those that have treated each other with love, respect, appreciation and kindness. I was beginning to think that real love between two partners is all fantasy and you just have to put up with what you have. I like to hear that there really is such a thing as a happy marriage. I thought my parents were the only ones that knew the secret.

Oh, I hope so!!
Valid question though. I'm 36 so I don't know the answer. Maybe sex becomes an added benefit and not the focus of the relationship.

WOW! It's so nice to hear all your positive and happy responses! You are all so very blessed!
Mulan,
It's nice you were able to work out your problems...because you both had that love for each other and your children to want to iron things out. Help with the kitchen is a big help, especially when we work a full time job on the side!
It sounds like, according to your responses, to have a healthy and happy relationship you need trust, respect, and admiration. What if you didn't have that in your marriage....then what?
Connie,
You sound like you have a real sweetheart on your hands too. It sure helps out that he is seriously supportive about your JW past. Unless they've been in our shoes, it's usually very difficult for them to understand, but it sounds like your sweetie values you so much that he has even taken the time to do some research. How loving and thoughtful!

LB,
Your wife must be very lucky!! Just look at you....you're beaming!!
Ladies,You are also very lucky to be so happliy married....I don't hear that too much anymore. When you talk about not being so smooth sailing all the time, are these "bumps" serious problems or minor stuff that you can work out over a glass of wine and some good conversation? How much do you give until you finally have to draw the line?

Talking with the women at work, I'm surprised at how many are not totally happy. One woman commented on how more men are happier being married that woman are. But, on the other hand I have heard people say how happy they are in their marriages. I like to hear that they are happy because that gives me some hope that there are still some decent people out there.
I still believe that there are those that just were not meant to be married and are perfectly happy being single and not committed....
What are your thoughts?
I'm so sorry, Larc!
I hope for a speedy recovery for your wife, and lots of hope and strength for you.

just wondering about some of the profile pics...i think its nice to know a bit about the person you want us see, or the person you don't want us to see.
so what were you thinking when the pic was taken, how long ago, and where were you?
mine was taken last month, just after my 36th birthday.
OK folks...here's my Mug Shot. Sorry it's so blury!

Beck,
When I find a picture of myself I will post it. I realized I don't have any of myself...just my kids.
Ven,
I tried taking a picture of myself at work....it was a Mug shot (I work for Probation & Parole). It didn't work...yuck!! I'll keep looking for one.
